Expanded polystyrene (EPS) blocks and sheets are typically used for theatrical props because of their light weight and strength. They are economical and can be coated with a variety of different coatings to achieve almost any desired effect. This school in Walton Beach, Florida was especially creative when they used 4′ x 8′ panels of 6″ thick EPS to create a rock face for this tower and additional fire place and stone walls by rubbing out the grooves with a grill brush. Cutting with the grill brush was messy but effective.
