Custom cut EPS was provided to this Cryogen Bank in Fairfax, Virginia as a lid insulation insert to maintain the liquid nitrogen temperature at a chilling -196 degrees Celsius. The foam was custom cut to precisely fit into the top of the tank. In the past Universal foam Products has provided components for this application as well as a complete tank carved out of a large block of EPS. Expanded polystyrene is an excellent insulator and is available in sections up to 48” thick.
