Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space* Museum offers a rocket building activity at some of our educational events. We provide this activity at our KidSpace events we do at local air shows, fly-ins, and educational events. We also have this activity at our Kid Around the hangar event we host twice a year. The rocket itself is made up of the following material: pipe insulation (3/4in), rubber band, straw, cable tie, hot glue, and fins. It’s a great way to introduce kids to aerospace using safe and friendly materials. Universal Foam products provides the EPS (expanded polystyrene) fins for the rockets.
