This United Methodist Church in Seward, PA used 30 panels of .9 lb density EPS 2” x 48” x 96” for an application we had not seen before. Some of the panels were carved, but most were painted with a variety of different scenes for a vacation bible school. Because the panels are so lightweight, weighing just under 5 pounds each, they are easy to move around and can be stored for reuse in future productions. Several very creative members of the church did the painting. An engineer with the church created a homemade hotwire tool to cut and scoop the EPS panels to create the shapes and textures in the panels. The beautifully done panels turned out so well that another church in Pennsylvania has borrowed some of them for their VBS.
