Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is economical, lightweight, carvable and is available from locations throughout the US and Canada. It can be purchased in block form or precut to your specifications. The core of the columns used for this window display in New York City are 1.8 lb density EPS shipped to the studio as half columns. In all, 360 half columns ranging from 5” diameter to 14” diameter were used to create the display. The columns were covered with fabric. The window display and in-store displays were a big hit with customers.
