The two most commonly used foam boards used in construction are expanded polystyrene (EPS) a white rigid foam commonly, but mistakenly referred to as Styrofoam. The second material is extruded polystyrene which can be blue (Styrofoam Brand Foam by Dow Chemical) or pink (Foamular by Owens Corning). The foam cups that are almost always referred to as “Styrofoam cups” are actually made from EPS. EPS insulation can be used throughout the building from floor to ceiling and is shipped nationwide from 100 locations.
