The range of EIFS finishes continues to expand, giving the architect and home owner a real versatility of design and choice of color. Usually the final appearance of the outer substrate of an EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) has a resemblance to stone or stucco but there are many other options available. The final finish is the top layer of a continuous insulation system – with EPS (expanded polystyrene) at its core. This attaches to the main wall substrate, providing energy efficiency for the home before the protective and aesthetic top coat and EIFS finish.
