1 lb density Expanded polystyrene (EPS) ceiling tiles can be used in
certain areas of a building where the sprinkler heads are above the
ceiling. Referred to as a “melt away” ceiling the EPS tiles will melt
from a fire below allowing he sprinkler heads to activate. It is
important to check with your local building department to see if your
specific application complies with the code.
