Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome, NY, chose polystyrene blocks to create the replica of the U.S.S Enterprise.  RMH choose expanded polystyrene blocks to build the parade float because it was light weight, yet strong and versatile. They built the captain’s chair and main saucer from EPS Blocks, then painted and applied adhesive letters and parade garland. Earning oohs and aahs all along the parade route July 30, 2011, RMH won 1st place by “going boldly where no hospital has gone before.” Our ship, the RMH Paragon, was named after the new electronic medical record that we were launching that weekend. Universal Foam Products supplies EPS foam blocks for parade floats of all types.

Did you know that you can use EPS as part of a topiary?  I have a customer who is doing just that.  She is using the foam as the legs of an elephant topiary table display.  The foam will be covered with glue and seeds to make the legs more elephant like.  What other creative uses can you come up with?

I just sold a school two pieces of EPS for a large prop.  The school will be cutting the foam into a large face.  EPS is wonderful to use for props.  It’s easily cut and lightweight.  It can also be stored for reuse later.

Recently we have sold several EPS foam cone shaped christmas trees that will make their way into The White House. The trees are 72″ high it will be an amazing site to see.  Stay tune for pictures.  You too can decorate your business or home for the holidays with Foam cut to any design you can think of at a very low price.  Dare to be different call us with your ideas and we can make them happen.

This Tea Cup was carved out of 2 lb density EPS.  My customer used it for a prop in a photo shoot project. With EPS you can bring your imagination to life.

Even though the school year has only just started it seems parents are already planning for high school seniors’ all night graduation parties.  I quoted a customer a 36″ x 48″ x 96″ block of EPS to be carved into a giant shark.  The plan is to hang the shark from the ceiling as part of the party’s movie theme.

Best wishes for the school year to all students and parents!

I recently quoted a customer on a rather unique project.  He is going to make a smaller version of Stonehenge out of EPS and fiberglass.  He will shape the EPS himself to look more like the stones in the picture below.  The project will be displayed outside.

I had the unique opportunity to quote EPS pieces for a high school parade float.  The foam will be used to make a huge tiered cake.  EPS will also be used to cover the dow rods that will support the top two tiers.  EPS is being considered because it weighs less than wood and will be easier for the high school kids to work with.

Click here to see how EPS was used for another parade float in July 2009.

I had an opportunity to quote and sell a high school located in the Northeast EPS blocks as props for their marching band.  The blocks will be painted and decorated in the school’s colors.   They plan to use them as portable platforms during various home games and band competitions over the coming school year.  Good luck!

I just quoted letters/words (ie APPLIANCES, ELECTRONICS, OFFICE) for the wall of a furniture/appliance store. They will be used to direct customers to different locations within the store. These will be coated and attached to the wall.
