This picture shows you what you can do with a vivid imagination and a tremendous amount of talent. One of our customers, who is not a professional artist, came up with this idea for their child’s birthday party. He carved and glued together thin layers of EPS – ½”, ¾” and 1”, to create the animal shapes. He then applied a coating and paint to create the amazing finished product you see here. The animals were the hit of the party with parents who came with their children. They wanted to know where they could buy them.

A production designer from Los Angeles, CA, choose polystyrene to carve the “Burger Boy” statue prop for a movie. The 5’6″ statue was carved from a single 6′x4′x3′ block of polystyrene, then covered in a light weight spackle and painted it. The film, “Lost on Purpose,” was shot in the summer of 2011 in Visalia, CA and stars Jane Kaczmarek, James Lafferty, Aaron Hill and C. Thomas Howell.

When Ben Sexton of Ellijay Elementary School in Ellijay, GA needed EPS foam sheets for stage props for the school production of Beauty and the Beast he contacted Universal Foam Products.  He ordered different size sheets of EPS to be painted by the students and the stage props were used as the background for the “Creepy Forest” the “Library” and the “Village” in the production. The students loved working on the stage props for the show and the school was very pleased with how the EPS foam worked out.

Susan’s Angels are created primarily from paper twist and ribbons. Each of these adorable girls with fun personalities are designed and created by Susan M. DiGivanni of Unforgettable Impressions. No two angels are alike. Each angel has her own unique individuality and accessories. Some of the girls have pearls and rhinestones, while others have bows and flowers. The angels’ hair of Spanish moss is shaped into short sporty cuts or some have long page boys that are topped with a headband, a tiara, or an adorable halo. There are two sizes of standing angels: 16” and 9”. The 16” angel sells for $18 (3 for $45) and the 9” angel sells for $14 (2 for $25). Also, in the same paper twist, I have created angel tree ornaments which sell for $8 each (3 for $20). I have designed the angels in twelve different shades of paper twist. Some of the angels are in color combinations that might match your bedroom and can be displayed 12 months each year! As a special tradition, this year I have fashioned a new angel to add to my Angel Family. The latest design for 2011 will be a Halloween Angel dressed in black with orange accessories, including a tall black pointed hat!

Two months before Christmas, one year ago, I had the opportunity of meeting Lynne Bright, a talented young lady with great artistic vision. During our initial conversation that evening, I quickly realized a woman with a heart of gold who could enrapture a room with her smile all the while being your best audience! Discovering we both enjoyed creating, we began an adventure.

Living in Florida has many attributes and among them, the ocean. During our first outing to the beach, we collected shells, as Lynne was creating beautiful unique shell boxes, not like what you or I would ever think of, I mean “crazy creative, fun, I gotta have one” boxes. Shortly thereafter we began building a Christmas Tree using oyster shells.

We ordered foam cones from Universal Foam Co. My husband built the stands (base) and Lynne and I gathered the shells. After securing the base to the foam, we began applying the shells starting at the bottom. Well about one third of the way up, we knew this was going to be good, maybe even great (no this was not an invention by Alexander Graham Bell but these days, we are easily humored)!

Fifty seven trees later, she has secured and incorporated her business name, Cottage House U.S.A, Inc! Her business e-mail (cottagehouseusainc@comcast.net) & web-site (cottagehouseusainc.vpweb.com) will be available within the month!

Sprayed and glittered with gold and silver, standing 34 to 35″in height x 12″ in width, the trees are magical with all the sugarplums, fairies and dreams of wishes that go with Christmas.

Did you know that you can use EPS as part of a topiary?  I have a customer who is doing just that.  She is using the foam as the legs of an elephant topiary table display.  The foam will be covered with glue and seeds to make the legs more elephant like.  What other creative uses can you come up with?

Recently we have sold several EPS foam cone shaped christmas trees that will make their way into The White House. The trees are 72″ high it will be an amazing site to see.  Stay tune for pictures.  You too can decorate your business or home for the holidays with Foam cut to any design you can think of at a very low price.  Dare to be different call us with your ideas and we can make them happen.

Even though the school year has only just started it seems parents are already planning for high school seniors’ all night graduation parties.  I quoted a customer a 36″ x 48″ x 96″ block of EPS to be carved into a giant shark.  The plan is to hang the shark from the ceiling as part of the party’s movie theme.

Best wishes for the school year to all students and parents!

With Halloween just around the corner, attached is a photo of a project one of our clients carved for an event, it was placed at the entrance. He made this using just 2 large blocks of the Expanded Polystyrene. Amazing isn’t it??!!
