Two months before Christmas, one year ago, I had the opportunity of meeting Lynne Bright, a talented young lady with great artistic vision. During our initial conversation that evening, I quickly realized a woman with a heart of gold who could enrapture a room with her smile all the while being your best audience! Discovering we both enjoyed creating, we began an adventure.
Living in Florida has many attributes and among them, the ocean. During our first outing to the beach, we collected shells, as Lynne was creating beautiful unique shell boxes, not like what you or I would ever think of, I mean “crazy creative, fun, I gotta have one” boxes. Shortly thereafter we began building a Christmas Tree using oyster shells.
We ordered foam cones from Universal Foam Co. My husband built the stands (base) and Lynne and I gathered the shells. After securing the base to the foam, we began applying the shells starting at the bottom. Well about one third of the way up, we knew this was going to be good, maybe even great (no this was not an invention by Alexander Graham Bell but these days, we are easily humored)!
Fifty seven trees later, she has secured and incorporated her business name, Cottage House U.S.A, Inc! Her business e-mail (cottagehouseusainc@comcast.net) & web-site (cottagehouseusainc.vpweb.com) will be available within the month!
Sprayed and glittered with gold and silver, standing 34 to 35″in height x 12″ in width, the trees are magical with all the sugarplums, fairies and dreams of wishes that go with Christmas.

Did you know that you can use EPS as part of a topiary? I have a customer who is doing just that. She is using the foam as the legs of an elephant topiary table display. The foam will be covered with glue and seeds to make the legs more elephant like. What other creative uses can you come up with?
Recently we have sold several EPS foam cone shaped christmas trees that will make their way into The White House. The trees are 72″ high it will be an amazing site to see. Stay tune for pictures. You too can decorate your business or home for the holidays with Foam cut to any design you can think of at a very low price. Dare to be different call us with your ideas and we can make them happen.
Even though the school year has only just started it seems parents are already planning for high school seniors’ all night graduation parties. I quoted a customer a 36″ x 48″ x 96″ block of EPS to be carved into a giant shark. The plan is to hang the shark from the ceiling as part of the party’s movie theme.
Best wishes for the school year to all students and parents!
With Halloween just around the corner, attached is a photo of a project one of our clients carved for an event, it was placed at the entrance. He made this using just 2 large blocks of the Expanded Polystyrene. Amazing isn’t it??!!

I had the pleasure of supplying the EPS to my customer in the Mid-West that built this amazing parade float for the Days of ’47 Parade.
The Days of ’47 Parade is an annual parade presented by The Days of ’47, Inc. The three-hour event is held in Salt Lake City starting at 9:00 a.m. MDT on July 24th, the same day as Pioneer Day, a Utah state holiday.
It was sculpted from scratch over a period of weeks and the end result is always exciting to see. The EPS is easy to work with, especially because I was able to provide it to my customer in different sizes including EPS blocks for the larger sculptures and projects.
