Starting with 12″ x 12″ x 5′ blocks of 1 lb virgin EPS (expanded polystyrene), AST Exhibits was able to create amazing custom exhibition booth. Some were milled down to form round logs. Others were shaped into cypress knees and Earthen terrain. The largest log was sculpted to show rotted areas and weathering. Once sculpted it was cut into sections so we could insert stringers (like in a surfboard) to strengthen it and add support for the taxidermy. After re-assembly, all the pieces were coated in a durable surface material, sanded and painted to blend into the scenery.
