Using geofoam blocks as void fill below a structural slab can save significantly on project costs. Moving of other void fill materials can take more time and require earth moving equipment. Geofoam blocks are much easier to handle and are often placed by hand. At a new community college in Chalmette, LA, poor soil conditions required void fill between grade beams and below a structural slab. More than 400 EPS15 large geofoam blocks were supplied by Universal Foam Products to complete the project. See our Projects page to see the geofoam blocks in situ.
